June 5th | Temakinho skips the straw

On Tuesday June 5th, World Environment Day, and in preparation for World Oceans Day, Friday June 8th,  all our restaurants will serve drinks without straws, unless explicitly requested by the client.

Plastic straws are a major cause of ocean pollution due to their disposable nature and if they end up in the sea, they become a danger to marine animals and oceans. On a daily basis, 500 million straws are consumed in the United States alone. A straw is used for an average of 20 minutes and then it’s thrown away.

We, as Temakinho group, are currently  looking for a sustainable alternative to plastic straws, and we jumped on this opportunity to launch a clear,  strong message, coherent with our brand values of love for the ocean and respect for the environment.
