At the beginning of 1900’s, after 3 months of navigating, 165 families from the Far East arrived to Santos (port of Sao Paulo) in pursuit of fortune.

After the First World War, a lot more families moved to Brazil thanks to Japanese incentives for international migration and after the closing of the North American borders.

Today, over 100 years after the first disembarkation, Brazil has one of the biggest established Japanese communities (over one million and five hundred thousand citizens).

The Japanese people brought with them that light, fresh, soft and rich in protein cuisine that we know as Sushi, which was then easily adapted to a country with tropical ingredients.

In recent years, the growing demand for a good quality, healthy, rich in nutrients, fast and easy to eat product created by the great economic growth and the hectic city life needed to be satisfied. This is how the Temaki prevailed and succeeded over a frantic environment as it is an easily done dish with seaweed, rice and fresh fish (either cooked or raw) seasoned with the local ingredients to satisfy the tasty Brazilian palate.
